My take on the selection process:
We all agreed with the timeline. We all agreed with the process. We all agreed with community input. We all agreed with the final round candidates. Until now.Why I chose Dr. Azaiez:
I highly respect the other candidate’s work ethics and professionalism, but I am not looking forward to having RRISD to be a place for retirement. The community wants an agent of change and Dr. AZ is the man.I don’t want to repeat what other trustees have said about AZ and the consensus among the board. I just want to mention one tiny thing: barbering may not be a shining example of a CTE program, but AZ understands the importance of creating opportunity and paths for all students to succeed.
Dr. Presley:
I have my snarky moment toward Dr. Presley. Though we have disagreements, he truly deserves gratitude during this tough period.
